Sarah Vallieres

I'm a technical writer working for Citrix XenServer. I'm currently writing about Workload Balancing and XenServer networking for the upcoming Boston release. However, in the past, I've worked on XenServer deployment and networking as well as several different areas of XenApp and EdgeSight. I also coordinate the XenServer design kit (aka "XenServer Deployment Articles and Multimedia Kit ").

I'm always interested in user feedback and ideas, so please feel free to contact me using the information below.

Watching the Royal Wedding this morning, I was struck to see Prince Harry sitting by himself in a carriage full of flower girls. He must realize that when his wedding comes, it won't be as elaborate as Prince William's, since Harry is, after all, the "spare" (as in the "heir and the spare"). In my spite of sympathy for the spare Harry, I was enchanted by ...

  7. XenServer Workload Balancing Thresholds Are Critical

With the cliffhanger ending of my last post, I left you all breathlessly wondering why the way XenServer Workload Balancing (WLB) works is important. Understanding how Workload Balancing work is critical in understanding how to tweak your thresholds. Workload Balancing recommendations are triggered primarily by thresholds, values for resource metrics that, when one is crossed, indicate to Workload Balancing that it needs to make a recommendation. You can improve the timing of Workload ...
