This may sound sappy but it’s true: I feel fortunate and proud to be a Citrix employee each and every day. And I am not alone! Many of my colleagues feel the same way, according to the San Jose Mercury News, which just named Citrix the fifth best large workplace in its Top Workplaces 2012 ranking.

This is the third year in a row that Citrix has been recognized as one of the best places to work in the Bay Area. It’s a great honor and one that I view with pride as well as a great sense of accomplishment.

Part of the secret to our success is the fact that we don’t just sell cloud, collaboration, networking and virtualization technologies to our customers. We also empower our employees to work better and live better with mobility and cloud solutions that enable us to do our jobs from any location, with anyone, and on any device. When it comes to mobile workstyles, we truly walk the walk – and our employees really appreciate that.

This sentiment, from one of our employees as published in the San Jose Merc’s write-up on Citrix, seems to sum it up perfectly: “I have work-life balance; the company is always doing innovative things and the management respects and values my job function.” I share the sentiment completely!

I was also very gratified to see that Citrix was recognized for our work in the community. Our employees have a sense of ownership in the company as well as a commitment to the communities in which we work and live. The Merc noted that we: “give employees specific amounts of time off per year to volunteer at a non-profit organization of their choice. Citrix also matches up to $1,000 per employee per year in donations to the employee’s designated charity.” This is certainly one of the many reasons that Citrix is such a great place to work.

Citrix employees are an amazing source of inspiration and innovation. Our people are the No. 1 reason we continue to make this Top Workplaces list and also why I enjoy working for Citrix as much as I do. It feels incredible to have the wind at our back as we strive to use technology to create better ways for people to work and live. While we continue to grow over the years ahead, I’m confident we will always be one of Silicon Valley’s (if not the world’s!) best places to work.

Congratulations Citrix on being a best place to work!
