OpenStack Essex has recently been released and of course it supports both XenServer and XCP. During Essex Citrix has spent a lot of time improving the XenServer support. Moreover, we plan to continue our efforts around improving OpenStack’s XenServer support in the Folsom time frame.

Next week Ewan Mellor, Renuka Apte and I will be at the Folsom OpenStack Design Summit. To hear more about Citrix plans for Folsom, attend the session on the XenAPI driver roadmap:

Now is a good time to take a look at some of what Citrix has done for OpenStack Essex:

Many others have also spent a lot of time improving the XenServer support. A big thank you to all of you! Also a big thank you to all who are deploying and testing OpenStack with XenServer and XCP. Two organisations that spring to mind are: Internap and Rackspace Public Cloud. Please keep the feedback coming; so we know how we can help.

I will report back after the Summit to let you know what Citrix plans to do during Folsom.
